During its Business Achievement Awards gala night early in October, the Australia Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industries, inc. or APCCII recognised and paid tribute to 17 small business proprietors and owners who were nominated for their entrepreneurial skills and demonstrated business success and awarded them with plaques of appreciation.
Ten of the 17 nominees were eventually deemed winners of the 2009 APCCII Business Achievement Awards.
The 17 nominees including the 10 awardees are: Romeo Alampayan, Bohol Motors; Cirilo Malonzo (awardee) Bhajune Hair and Make Up Artist; Nenita Jacob (awarded) Voyager Motel; Leo D. Cineza, West Sydney Business Consultancy; Joselito Cruz, Home Inspectors of Australia; Jaynzee Tolaram, My Ecofriend; Dory Smith, Le Colonial Restaurant; Cristina Pinkard, Cristina Hair and Beauty; Don Mella (awardee), Elders Blacktown; Jessie Icao (awardee), Jessie Icao Solicitors; Tony Franco (awardee) Le Mirage Catering; Maria Victoria Ayap (awardee) MVA Financial Services; Rene Canuto, Canuto Pty Ltd; Reinhardt Badato (awardee). Full Force Gym ; Virginia Glena, Virginia’s Skin Care and Beauty; Benjamin Punzalan (awardee), Philippine Take Away; Valerio Pena, Sheerbroke Enterprise; and Dinah de Leon, Nayon Filipino Imports.
Representing Philippine Consul General Mrs. Eva Betita, Vice Consul Anthony Reyes said the success stories will greatly inspire other Filipino Australians and strengthen the standing of Filipino business men and women in the mainstream community.
Blacktown City Mayor Charlie Lowles also congratulated the nominees and eventual winners and said Blacktown City Council welcomes the contribution of the city’s largest single community to the economic make up of the city.
Mayor Lowles said about 46 percent of Australian-Filipino population in Australia lives in Blacktown area.
APCCII Pres. Carol Manaloto thanked supporters of the Business Achievement Awards including the Blacktown city council and said APCCII’s mission is to create a positive business environment and contribute to the success by providing leadership, representation.
